    Job Description
    The BCFM Community Market is a community market, supported by the Boyle County Fiscal Court, the city of Danville, other local agencies and nonprofits, and the people of Boyle County. The market provides access to locally grown fruits, vegetables, and other farm products, while creating community within the city of Danville and helping to revitalize the downtown district.

    BCFM Community Market, Market Director Job Description
    The BCFM Community Market seeks to hire a Market Director. This is a part time position with the primary responsibility of managing the day-to-day operation of the farmers’ market. This includes an on-site presence during all market hours as well as off-site work during non-market hours. The Market Director, in conjunction with the Board of Directors, will manage, plan, and direct the growth and general operation of the BCFM Community Market and will play a key role in supporting the mission and goals of the Market.
    In addition to managing daily market operations at our market location, the position will provide cohesive, energetic leadership and continuity to a range of market-related planning and promotions activities, vendor and customer interactions, and volunteers. This position will report to the BCFM Community Market Board of Directors and will act according to the will of the Board.

    Duties include:
    Daily operations of the market, vendor recruitment andmanagement, market set-up, entertainment, operating booth including Kentucky Double Dollars program and VISA machine; weekly data logs of KDD, number of vendors, gross income and customer counts, newsletter and marketing; monthly reports to Kentucky Double Dollars, including SNAP, WIC, and senior citizen transactions, board reports, budget reports, capacity and local community building; off-season logistics, licensing, training coordination, vendor recruitment, professional development, promotional program development, marketing, grants and fundraising, insurance and tax filings.
    The Board has set its performance expectations as detailed in this job description and will provide orientation training relevant to all assigned tasks. The job duties should require about 10 hours per week during the season and about 10 hours per month in the off-season. There will be an annual review of job performance by the Board of Directors.
